Spring has sprung and with it comes a multitude of projects from large to small moving through our shop.
Here is a look at some of what’s been happening...
Shawnee Pavilion
This 40' x 60' Pavilion is located at The Shawnee Recreation Complex in Charleston, WV. The scissor trusses were constructed using 8” x 16” Douglas Fir timbers with 8” x 10” timber posts. All the timber components were prefinished at our shop with a Sherwin Williams exterior stain and sealant.
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church
We were selected to design and construct this beautiful timber portico at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes, Delaware that has been in the works since at least 1921. We based our design off the original Philadelphia Architects sketch. The white oak timbers were all pre-fit and pre-finished at our shop and ready for assembly when they reached the job site.
Maryland Cottage
We hand cut the joinery in the Eastern White Pine timbers for our project in Crownsville, MD. The massive queen post style great room trusses span 33’ and were prefinished with black walnut Danish oil. Each one of these trusses weighs in at a whopping 900 pounds! The bedroom trusses have a simple, elegant appearance with the bottom chord dovetailed into the rafters.
